1 november 2015 – china everbright limited (“cel”; stock code: 165.hk)’s ceo chen shuang and volunteers, in a total of 39 persons, participated in the “sowers action challenging 2015– charity hiking”. cel has supported this event for three consecutive years, it is widely welcomed by our colleagues and the participation rate was much higher this year. the event is very meaningful that our colleagues can do hiking together and at the same time raise money for the children in the rural regions in mainland china.
cel corporate teams took part in the 12km route from shing mun reservoir to tai po, and all of them successfully completed the event in its 4-hour time limit. ceo chen shuang, being the first participant from cel crossing the finishing line, completed the event within 100 minutes. nearly hk$60,000 has been raised for the event through china everbright charitable foundation’s sponsorship of the registration fees and donations.
cel is a corporation committed to corporate social responsibility. in the past few years, cel has organised a number of volunteer services including a visit to elderly home, special children care centre, sheltered workshop, participation in everbright project’s large-scale activity, as well as had the parent-child visiting program to lifeline express eye-train hospital in shandong and hailongjiang. all these activities received good response and support from cel staff. cel will organise similar activities in the future and hope that these volunteer services can provide opportunities for its staff to serve the community in leisure time.
