china everbright limited’s ceo chen shuang officiated at the 3rd overseas summit for chinese listed companies cum china securities golden bauhinia awards presentation as well as the 10th china m&a annual conference on november 28-29, 2013 respectively.
mr. chen delivered speeches with topics including overseas expansion of chinese enterprises, shanghai pilot free trade zone and others in the two events. he shared the recent years’ experience in development of china everbright limited through m&a via hong kong as well as the challenges and possible solutions confronted by chinese enterprises expanding in overseas. in addition, he added that tremendous opportunities will be created by the liberalisation of the capital market after the third plenary session of the 11th central committee of the communist is held.
regarding the shanghai pilot free trade zone plan, he expressed that financial functions are inevitably armed in the zone. although apparent competition between shanghai and hong kong is derived, the indispensable niches of the two places, with one being the onshore rmb offshore centre whereas the other serves as a solely offshore rmb centre, will be complementary and eventually become beneficial to each other as long as the off-shore rmb market enhanced.
